Organisation

The department is headed by the Director of Immigration and National Registration. Assisted by two Deputy Director; one responsible for Immigration affairs and the other for National Registration affairs. Under Immigration section, presently there are two appointed Assistant Directors by which one of them controls the Work Pass together with the Visit Visa and Diplomatic Section and the other one controls the Enforcement and Control Post Section.

Headed by an Administrative Officer Special Grade
Dealing with administrative and personnel matters
Dealing with financial matters such as salaries, allowance as well as revenue collection
Preparing annual budget and development projects
Handling office equipment, furniture, stationaries, etc.

Research, Development and Computer Section

Headed by Senior Chief Immigration Officer
Research and planning for both short and long term such as setting up of new control posts, new office buildings, etc.
Planning, research and implementing information system development for present and future system
Staff training
Planning, reviewing and improving
Efficiency and quality services to the public
Act and Regulation

Work Pass Section

Headed by Senior Chief Immigration Officer
Issuing work pass to foreigner for employment in Brunei Darussalam
Issuing dependent pass to the wife or children of the holder of a valid employment pass
Enforcing the marriage control procedure to foreigner who wishes to marry the citizen and permanent resident of Brunei Darussalam

Visas are required by foreign nationals to enter Brunei Darussalam for whatever purpose.

Travel Document Section

Headed by Senior Chief Immigration Officer
Processing and issuing passports and other travel documents to citizens of Brunei Darussalam and permanent resident of Brunei Darussalam in accordance with The Passport Act and Regulations

General Certificate of Identity (GCI)
Diplomatic Passport
Emergency
Pilgrimage Passport
International Certificate of Identity (ICI)

Control Post and Statistic Section

Headed by Senior Chief Immigration Officer
This section is responsible for administrating and controlling the entry and exit points.

There are 9 immigration checkpoints throughout Brunei Darussalam, which are:
Brunei International Airport Berakas
Putat (Officially open on 1 Januari 2004)
Kuala Lurah, Brunei / Muara District
Sungai Tujuh, Kuala Belait
Puni, Temburong
Muara Deep Port
Anduki Airport, Seria
Custom Wharf, Kuala Belait
Serasa Ferry Terminal

Jabatan Imigresen dan Pendaftaran Kebangsaan diketuai oleh Pengarah Imigresen dan Pendaftaran Kebangsaan yang mana ia mempunyai dua Timbalan Pengarah iaitu Timbalan Pengarah Imigresen dan Timbalan Pengarah Pendaftaran Kebangsaan.
