Citizens
Types of travel document issued are :
Brunei International Passport
Only Brunei Citizens are eligible to apply for it. Used to
travel to any country in the world.
- How do I apply for a Brunei International
Passport ?
- To apply for it, he/she is required to lodge personally to the travel
document section of the department.
- What do I have to provide to get the
Brunei International Passport?
- Original and a copy of Identity Card
- Original and a copy of Birth Certificate
- Original and a copy of Marriage Certificate (for couples only)
- Original and a copy of Nationality Certificate
- Three passport-size photo
- Validity
- Age 12 - Above - 10 years
- Under Age 12 - 5 years
- Processing
- Fees of the MRP Passport
- Age 12 ó Above - B$50.00
- Under Age 12 - B$25.00
General Certificate of Identity
(GCI)
Only Brunei Citizens are eligible to apply for it. It can
only be used to travel to Sabah, Labuan and Sarawak.
- How do I apply a GCI Passport ?
- To apply for it, he/she is required to lodge personally directly to
the travel document section of the department.
- What do I have to provide to get the GCI
Passport?
- Original and a copy of Identity Card
- Original and a copy of Birth Certificate
- Three passport-size photo
- Validity
- Processing
- Fees of the GCI Passport
Diplomatic Passport
- Issued by the instruction of Ministry of Foreign Affairs
- Generally, it is for Brunei Citizens who are performing official
duties No charges is levied (gratis)
Pilgrimage Passport
- Issued once in a year i.e. during the pilgrimage season for Brunei
Citizens and the Permanent Resident of Brunei intending to perform the pilgrim (haj)
- Applicant has to submit the application personally to this section.
The form should be apply through the Ministry of Religious Affair (Pilgrimage Section)
- Used for the above purpose only and on the year it is issued out.
- Fees for the pilgrimage passport will be B$10.00
Permanent Resident
Type of travel document issued is :
International Certificate of
Identity (ICI)
Only 'residence permit' or 'entry permit' and 'stateless' holders
are eligible to apply for it.
- How do I apply an ICI Passport ?
- To apply for it, he/she is required to lodge personally directly to
the travel document section of the department.
- What do I have to provide to get the ICI
Passport?
- Original and a copy of Identity Card
- Original and a copy of Birth Certificate
- Original and a copy of Resident Permit/ Re-entry Permit
- Three passport-size photo
- Copy of old passport if necessary(MRP/GCI/CI)
- Validity
- Processing
- Fees of the ICI Passport
Lost or Tampered Passport
- For any lost passport, the holder must report it to the Brunei Police
Station before he/she apply for a replacement. The police report,
statory declaration from court together with the
document required are submitted to the Travel Document Loss Section
- For tampered/damaged passport/travel document, report from the Police
is not required instead they are required to make relevant statement to the department
- For both cases, application of replacement is
similar to the application of a new passport/travel document.
- Surcharge will be compounded B$150 for the first
time

B$300 for the second time

B$450 for the third time
- For fire cases, a letter from both Fire
department and head of the village is required.
