Travel Documents section is responsibles in issuing travel documents for Brunei Darussalam's citizen and the permanent resident of Brunei Darussalam. Travel documents can be applied at the department's headquarters or any of its office branch at all districts.
Walk in facility for travel documents application is available. Special counters for senior citizen and children age 5 years and below is also available.
However, public is highly encourage to download QueUP application via Google Play or App Store and book in advance for queue application slot. This will enable public to reduce their waiting time and guaranteed their queue slot for application.

Type of travel documents and application category:
Official passport issued to Brunei Darussalam citizen who has support letter from the relevant government ministry or department in Brunei Darussalam and approval from the Prime Minister Office.
Validity period: 5 years
Diplomatic passport issued to Brunei Darussalam citizen who has support and approval letter from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Validity period: 5 years
Brunei biometric passport issued to Brunei Darussalam citizen
General Certificate of Identity (GCI) issued to Brunei Darussalam citizen. This travel document is only valid for travel to Sabah, Sarawak and Wilayah Persekutuan Labuan.

Payment for inclusion/additional of children details on the father/mother's Certificate of Identity (maximum of 4 children age 11 years old and below): Free
Validity period: 10 years
Certificate of Identity (CI) issued to Brunei Permanent Resident.
Validity period: depending on the discretion of the officer validity is either 2 years or 5 years
Note: holder of this travel document is advised to check on visa requirements of the destination country prior to travel.
Emergency certificate issued to Brunei Darussalam citizen who is currently located outside Brunei Darussalam and need to return to Brunei Darussalam as soon as possible. The issuance is only occurred when the holder lost or damaged his/her passport overseas and eligible to newborn that is born outside Brunei Darussalam where the father is a Bruneian and intended to take the newborn back to Brunei Darussalam.
Validity period: The certificate is valid within 6 months from the date of issuance and for single journey back to Brunei Darussalam.
